We Welcome Harry Steele!
Harry is the Chaplain to the Bishop of Sheffield – a role which takes up most of his time! Over the next few months he will be part of the church family as Aston particularly leading worship in our Sunday morning services and joining in with PCC meetings.
Harry Steele has been a priest in the Church of England for fifteen years. Although difficult to prove historically, he is likely to be the most tattooed priest in the history of the CofE. Married to Zoey he has two teenage boys and serves as Chaplain to the Bishop of Sheffield. This role is something like a ‘personal private secretary’. He has been doing it for two years. Prior to that he worked for a short time in the South of England, but with that one exception, has lived in Sheffield for twenty years and served in a number of different churches. He was also Assistant Director of an organisation called ‘Leading your Church into Growth’ for a few years, and remains on the team as a volunteer.
Harry loves contemporary music, reading novels, cycling and basketball (he can’t play very well – he is only 5’8). In his spare time he is chaplain to the Sheffield Sharks and Sheffield Hatters basketball teams.
