Covid-19 Disruption

The church building is currently closed during the Covid-19 pandemic. The building continues to be maintained by our verger so that it is ready and safe for use again following lockdown.

As a church we pray for our government leaders to make sensible and informed decisions, we pray for our NHS and key workers that they may do their best and stay safe themselves, we pray for those that have lost their lives to the virus and for their families who have lost a loved one, we pray for scientists working 24/7 to develop a vaccine, we pray for our own church, it's leaders, its choir and its congregation, we pray for the world that it may be swiftly healed.

Here are some further prayers that may help:

Keep us, good Lord, under the shadow of your mercy
in this time of uncertainty and distress.
Sustain and support the anxious and fearful, and lift up all who are brought low;
that we may rejoice in your comfort knowing that nothing can separate us from your love,
in Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen

God of compassion, be close to those who are ill, afraid or in isolation.
In their loneliness, be their consolation; in their anxiety, be their hope;
in their darkness, be their light; through him who suffered alone on the cross,
but reigns with you in glory, in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

O Almighty God, who in Thy wrath didst send a plague upon thine own people in the wilderness for their obstinate rebellion agains Moses and Aaron; and also in the time of King David didst slay with the plague of Pestilence threescore and ten thousand, and yet remembering Thy mercy didst save the rest; have mercy upon us miserable sinners, who are now visited with great sickness and mortality; that like as Thou then didst accept of an atonement, and diet command the destroying Angel to cease from punishment, so it may now please Thee to withdraw from us this plague and grievous sickness; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

MUSIC IN LOCKDOWN

During lockdown our church choir has been put into recess but continue to rehearse online weekly on Thursday evenings. They are also engage in various fun events during rehearsals such as quizzes, games and interviews as well as rehearsing existing repertoire and new music. The choir have also continued to produce music in isolation by sending recordings of their voices to be added to others in the recording studio of our Director of Music; Ian Watts. Such offerings can be seen in the videos below and far more service music here. The choir have also recorded a digital album of Music in Lockdown entitled LIGHT OF THE WORLD. Click the link to hear it. We hope this music helps you through this period. A website on the album can be viewed here.

All Saints Aston is doing its utmost to ensure that our church family remain intact during a difficult period and that forms of worship continue. We pray for the end of this situation with a satisfactory conclusion.
